Beginning Quilting

In this five class series, Rhonda will teach the basics of rotary cutting, machine piecing, machine quilting, and continuous binding to complete a table runner.

Blooming Jacket
Turn a sweatshirt into a stunning jacket, vest or pullover with this sew and shrink, raw edge patchwork technique.
Skill Level:  All

Fabric Bowls
From fabric strips and clothesline, you will be able to make beautiful decorative bowls.  Be careful- after you have made your first bowl, you won’t want to stop!  Eileen will teach you the basics of bowl making and pass along valuable tips and techniques to make it fun and easy.

Thread Catcher
This handy thread catcher and attached pin cushion is a “must have” near your sewing machine or favorite chair.  No more threads on the floor!  Eileen will teach you her construction secrets of her original design.  You will want to make one for all you friends!

Thread Catcher

Picture Piecing
Picture Piecing is Cynthia England’s technique of creating realistic pictorial quilts using freezer paper templates and straight line sewing.  Rhonda has sewn samples for Cynthia and demoed this technique at quilt shows for years.  She will share with you tips and tricks to make the piecing easier.

T-shirt Quilt
What can you do with all those T-shirts you have been saving?  Make a quilt!  In the first class, you will learn how to cut and stabilize your t-shirts and discuss quilt design.  In the second class, you sew together your design.
